GENERAL RULES INFORMATION

1. NRHA: All reining classes will be judged according to the National Reining Horse Association 2008 rule book.  The National Reining Horse Association will be referred to throughout this form as the NRHA.

All divisions of the South Country Slide-In (except for the Green Reiner division) are NRHA approved. Both the owner and rider of each entry must be members of the NRHA.  Membership cards for 2008 members must be presented to the show secretary before numbers are released, if a photocopy of card does not accompany the entry form.  Also, all horses competing in any division (except the Green Reiner) must possess a competition license, which is a lifetime earnings record kept on file in the NRHA office.  License applications or transfers will not be accepted at the show, and must be completed through the NRHA office before competing in any NRHA event.  Photocopies of licenses already issued must accompany entry form or be shown to show secretaries prior to numbers release.

NRHA office hours Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm CST.  Phone (405) 946-7400.  Ensure applications to the NRHA Office are applied for early enough to account for processing and mailing. (at least a month in advance)

Forms available on www.nrha.com

2. ENTRIES must be postmarked by July 21, 2008 or they will be assessed a 40% penalty on the entry fee for each division.  There will be no exceptions!  NSF cheques will not be considered timely payment, and if not made good prior to the entry deadline of July 21, the 40% penalty and a $25 NSF charge shall apply.

There will be no refunds, but substitutions may be made upon notification to the show secretary.  A vet certificate stating that the horse entered is unable to participate, and a substitution fee of  $20 will be accepted.

3. PAYOUTS will be made according to the 2008 NRHA  rule book payback schedule.  Show committee to retain 50% of the entry fees.

4.  DOCUMENTATION FOR ENTRIES: Membership card(s) for the rider and owner as stated on the NRHA License and a copy of the NRHA License MUST accompany all entries for entry verification.

5.  MONEY LIMITS  in any division vary according to the 2008 NRHA Rule Book. Please make reference according to the division entered.  Eligibility for any horse or rider entered may be subject to verification from the NRHA office. Riders are responsible for entering the proper divisions based on their eligibility.  If unsure how much your NRHA earnings are,  Please verify with the NRHA office prior to entering. NRHA office hours Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm CST.  Phone (405) 946.7400.  Please refer to 2008 NRHA handbook for definitions of Class Eligibility or visit www.nrha.com for clarification.

***EXCEPTIONS FOR MONEY LIMITS:

Green Reiner limit of $250 for horse and/or rider applies to  ALL reining show earnings prior to Jan. 1, 2008.

6.  Any concerns that arise during the show must be discussed with NRHA Representative Tim Whale.  Any unsportsmanlike conduct towards the judges, show committee or other participants will result in disciplinary action, which may consist of forfeiture of entry fees, awards prize money and future show participation. All decisions by the show committee will be carefully made, and will be final and binding.

7. NON PROFESSIONAL RIDERS showing at the South Country Slide-In must meet the criteria set out in the 2008 NRHA rule book in order to be eligible to compete.

8. U.S. ENTRIES - Check your postage carefully as the rates are slightly higher to send mail into Canada.  Several entries have been returned to sender each year, making them late in arriving for entry deadline, draws, program etc.  The exchange rate can vary significantly from the time the entry form is sent out to the time entries are made, thus the show management cannot set a predetermined exchange rate fairly for U.S. entrants.  Please purchase a Canadian money order for your entry payment, as you will get the fairest exchange for your  U.S. dollar.  The other option offered to U.S. participants  is to pay in U.S. funds, and  the show secretary will process your entry  at the current exchange rate for that banking day, but a $20 office charge will apply for this service.
